Operations Management
Due to an overwhelming number of applications our Ulster Bank - Operations Management programme is now closed. If you would like to be considered should any places become available at a later date, please complete our expression of interest form. You can also pre-register for our 2010 programme.
The ‘engine room’
The programme offers you fantastic exposure to the systems, processes and technology that support the success of the whole of the Ulster Bank Group. As the ‘engine room’, Operations is involved in everything from managing payments to processing mortgage applications to installing ATMs and investigating fraud. Our 18-month programme provides you with the opportunity to rotate through a number of departments, get involved in a wide range of project work and build up a vast library of knowledge.
Support from all sides
You’ll find yourself working at an incredible pace and taking on early responsibility for projects. But you’ll receive support on all sides, from colleagues and senior managers – people who’ll provide the foundation of a valuable network for your future. A large part of your learning will be on-the-job but this will be supplemented with numerous courses and skills sessions, plus support to achieve professional qualifications or accreditation, where appropriate.
What it takes
People who do well here enjoy early responsibility from the word go. They need to be as good at managing processes as they are at managing people and have a grasp of technology. Academically, a good degree in any discipline mixed with some sound business acumen is a great starting point.
