Wealth UK comprises the client facing businesses Coutts & Co and Adam & Company. Both strive to provide the highest level of service for private clients offering a range of products and services covering sophisticated investment products together with expertise in trust and fiduciary services and UK tax and banking services.

We are looking for 10 high calibre graduates to work in Coutts & Co and 2 for Adam & Company in the UK. In addition to this there are opportunities for you to join our graduate programme in the UK, spend 3 years becoming a fully trained private banker, and then head to Hong Kong  or Singapore to start your private banking career in earnest.

Coutts & Co
As the Group’s international private banking arm, Coutts manages client assets of more than £63 billion for some 107,000 clients worldwide through businesses based in the UK, Asia, continental Europe, the Middle East, and offshore jurisdictions.  Since 1692, Coutts has remained committed to building one-to-one relationships and delivering unsurpassed service to our clients.

Adam & Company
Adam & Company is a Private Bank specialising in personal service. Our overarching value is service, which we demonstrate by commitment, competence, visibility, continuity and accountability.
We don't just pay lip service to words like 'partnership' and 'relationship'. The practice that embodies those words defines us. Our exceptionally high standards of service attract people who lead busy lives and are looking for active and judicious management of their financial affairs. Our clients range from being resident in the UK, expatriate or domiciled abroad. What they tend to have in common is a high income and substantial assets, not solely represented by the family home. We extend an equal welcome to private companies, trusts and charities.

Private Banking – it’s all about relationships
As a private banker or relationship manager, you’ll need to deal with our clients’ individual and varied financial needs, which could range from assisting with general banking queries, arranging a mortgage, through to arranging for the client to meet a financial planning specialist to discuss pensions or estate planning.  Through a rich mix of technical and business training, we’ll help you to develop the diverse knowledge and skills you’ll need, starting with a comprehensive induction

Year one
This will be spent on building your foundation knowledge through a programme of visits and attachments.  You will also be aligned to a client team to undertake the role of a private banker’s assistant or assistant relationship manager.  These activities are designed to familiarise you with our systems and products.  We’ll also support you in studying for an appropriate professional qualification.

Year two
You will build on the knowledge you have gained from your first year and perhaps arrange a rotation elsewhere within the Wealth division to increase your product knowledge (e.g. financial planning, investment management). Personal development training will be ongoing throughout the programme, and during this year we’ll also support you to complete the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP).

Year three
At this point, you’ll focus on building your client relationship skills and start the training and accreditation programme for private bankers or relationship managers. Once you’ve successfully completed these activities and have passed a final assessment centre, you’ll then be ready to start as a junior private banker or relationship manager, responsible for managing client relationships and maximising business potential.
