Identifying, managing and controlling riskThe management of risk is absolutely vital to all of the Group’s operations. In fact, it underpins our reputation, performance and future success now more than ever before. The graduate programme at RBS provides a platform for you to experience a variety of risk disciplines, including Operational and Regulatory Risk, Market Risk and Credit Risk.
A rotational programmeThe programme sits across the whole of the Risk function so you can expect to gain an understanding of all of our different risk disciplines. What’s more, by rotating across the different business areas, you’ll have the chance to build new relationships on a regular basis and to add real value to each team from the outset. It also means you’ll be continuously learning and going beyond your comfort zone.
International perspectives As well as experiencing life in our different Risk teams, all of which have their own cultures, you could experience life in a different country too. You’ll have the chance to apply for an international placement – current graduates are on placements in America, Hong Kong and Milan.
Strong support Not only will you have a buddy from the previous year’s graduate intake, you’ll also have a business manager as a mentor to help guide you through the programme. In each placement, you’ll be part of a team where the sharing of knowledge and experiences is the norm, and where everyone will help you to make the most of your time there. We’ll also give you support to undertake a risk-related professional qualification.
Who we’re looking forWe’re looking for people with the interpersonal skills to slot into many different teams and build solid business relationships. In fact, your ability to communicate is vital here, especially because you’ll rotate into at least one client facing role. Full of enthusiasm and highly proactive, you’ll make your presence felt right from day one in every new placement. Ideally, we’d also like to see some kind of work experience gained in a professional environment.
